viewed by the IT office. If you have a graduate degree, you can only earn the ALM if your existing degree is in a field other than information technology.
Also you must successfully complete three courses (12 units) in information technology through Harvard Extension School or Harvard Summer School. To successfully complete a course, you must earn a grade of B or higher. The 12 units will count toward the overall 40 units you must have for the ALM in Information Technology.
You must demonstrate your proficiency in English if you are not a native-English speaker. If your native language is not English, and you have not completed a four-year Bachelor's degree in an English-language curriculum, you must earn a 250 on the computer-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or a 600 on the paper-based TOEFL and a 5 on the Test of Written English (TWE). All scores must be sent to the IT office.
If you have questions about the ALM in Information Technology, you should call Dr. Leitner at (617) 495-9414. Also, you are invited to attend one of the orientations held at the beginning of each term (mid-September and late-January typically).
